Course Details | Our General English course aims to improve your overall command of everyday written and spoken English. It is ideal for short or long term study. We will help you to develop practical skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in addition to grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and project work. Our aim is to increase your confidence in your day-to-day use of English. All courses are taught in small multinational classes and will follow a course book curriculum complimented by other materials specially chosen by your teachers to boost learning. Most students progress by 1 level every 12 weeks. Students who start on our General English course may later join our exam preparation courses: IELTS, Cambridge Certificates or TOEFL. |

Assessment | Students are assessed by an initial level test on their first day at the college in order to be placed in a class according to their language ability. Our Academic Manager conducts a one-to-one consultation to discuss your level test results and learning plan at the college. Our teachers set a weekly supervised test in the first lesson every Friday morning and produce a detailed monthly report. This will allow students to see the areas they need to improve on. Progress is monitored closely to guarantee students benefit enormously from their time at the college. Daily homework is set to help students revise what they have learnt during the lessons. |
|
End of Course | Students receive a Cardiff Millennium College certificate detailing study dates and language level studied. |
